Why stay at war?
We must stay at war. Being a lover of peace and not violence, I don’t much like the conclusion to which I have arrived. I would much rather bring the troops home and focus on family, our nation, and getting us ‘right’. But I don’t like the possible ramifications that ideal could bring.
On the one hand, we could make our nation a better nation and better our people like the more disciplined nations in the east; we could put the money we save from Military into Education and stimulating the Economy. We could have our sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, and spouses back. We could train a better, more efficient military. We could better ourselves.
On the same hand, our enemies could do the same.
On the one hand, we could focus on Military and creating better weapons. We could work on better strategy. We could keep on pumping money into Military at the expense of education, but on our own territory.
On the same hand, our enemies could do the same.
On one hand, we could engineer the most vile of weapons to use on our enemies.
On the same hand, our enemies could do the same.
On the one hand, we could end up bringing the war back to our own territory, destroying the nation we are trying to rebuild and causing thousands more unnecessary victims.
On the same hand, our enemies might like that.
We must stay at war to keep the enemy as distracted as we are. We need to focus on maintaining our focus better though; while we are at war, nations are building better. While we are at war, our nation is a little less than fully protected. While we are at war, we sidestep Education and Economy. While we are at war though, we impede the enemy even more.
